The ideal cruise destination

The ideal cruise destination: a combination between the metropolitan city of Hamburg and the Hamburg Cruise Center activities. The awareness of the importance of the local cruise industry in Hamburg is growing.

Hamburg’s continuing growth in numbers of cruise ships calls and passengers, the enthusiasm of ship visitors to Hamburg, and the sucess of our various themed events demonstrate Hamburg’s rise as a key destination in Northern Europe. In this context the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg is delighted to be the venue for “Seatrade Europe” for the fifth time.

“Seatrade Europe” represents all different sectors of the cruise industry and as Hamburg is the second largest port in Europe, hosting cruise lines, incoming - & port agencies, yards and suppliers, it is the ideal place to bring the “cruisers” from all over the world together.

The range of cruise related companies in Hamburg is wide, extending from port operators to entertainment companies and technical supplier firms. In terms of economics, the importance of the cruise industry is thus far more than the sales revenue from the tourist industry that has been quantified hitherto.

Hamburg develops as a centre of the cruise industry.

The association Hamburg Cruise Center is not only marketing the cruise destination to the cruise lines & travel agents. The association also takes personally care about the passenger welcome at the pier and has lately won a price for the “Best Port Welcome” in 2008. The Hamburg Cruise Center counts 46 members, which are companies with cruise or tourism related business core.

Furthermore the Hamburg Cruise Center serves as well the members & passengers needs. The comprehensive web presence is informing the passengers about necessary references for arrival and departure from/to the cruise terminals or pre&post program. This site has just been relaunched.
