10. February 2010 Hamburg –Genuine winter fairy tale the setting for a christening

Hamburg. The 9 February marked the official start of the 2010 cruise season with the christening of the “AIDAblu”. According to media reports, tens of thousands of locals and numerous onlookers who had come to Hamburg especially for the event followed the ceremony at Hamburg’s Fischmarkt.

11. December 2009 Triumphant finale to mark the end of the 2009 Hamburg cruise season

This year, the official close of the 2009 Hamburg cruise season will again be marked by the visits of a number of ships during the Christmas time. These include the arrival today of the Cunard “Queen Victoria” and, tomorrow, the first call of P&O Cruises’ “Arcadia”. The Christmassy Hamburg offers passengers a total of eight themed Christmas markets to visit, all of which are within walking distance of the Cruise Center.

2010 cruise season promises to be the most successful year ever for Hamburg’s port. For the first time over 100 calls are expected as well as numerous maritime events.

5. September 2009 Hamburg Cruise Center empfängt 100.000sten Kreuzfahrtpassagier

Hamburg – on 5 September the 100,000 cruise passenger of the 2009 season was welcomed to the Port of Hamburg. The winner received a hotel voucher from the 4 star Mövenpick Hotel, Hamburg.

The 26th July saw a cruise ship docking at the Port of Hamburg for the 50th time this season. The vessel concerned was AIDA Cruises’ “AIDAcara”.

5. June 2009 Royal visit to Hamburg Cruise Center

On 30 May the “M/V Prince Albert II” of Silversea Cruises called at the Hamburg Cruise Center for the first time. This maiden call by the royal cruiser was accompanied by the fountains of the fire fighting boat and musicians playing at the pier.

25. May 2009 Hamburg – two big cruise events within one week

In the space of one week, two spectacular cruise events took place at the Port of Hamburg. Six luxury liners in all completed the programme for the celebration of the 820 th Port’s birthday, while the christening of ‘Mein Schiff’ transformed Hamburg’s fish market into a gigantic show stage.
