SECURITAS

The safe handling of cruise liners at the Hamburg Cruise  Center is one of the demanding and fascinating tasks performed by SECURITAS. Depending on the size of the ships, up to 25 SECURITAS employees ensure smooth boarding of the passengers.

When the ships arrive, SECURITAS is there, on the spot, to ensure the protection of front areas and terminals by employing specially trained security staff and modern technical equipment, in accordance with the international ISPS standard. “SECURITAS provides the complete staff – from the officer-in-charge and technology operators to security staff und service staff.

Also in this case, the service package offered by SECURITAS is exactly tailored to the customer’s needs. All employees that are employed have undergone intensive training – in-house as well as in the advanced training center at Hamburg harbor, in various specialist institutions and in German Federal Offices. Among the subjects that were treated were radiation protection and issues of harbor security.

As well as their own computer technology, the SECURITAS employees use specially designed counters for passenger handling. GPA equipment, metal detectors and hand scanners complement the technical equipment provided by SECURITAS on-site.

Together with the customer, the responsible SECURITAS employees are constantly working on a further simplification of the workflow. For this purpose, they also closely cooperate with several third-party institutions, such as the official control authority of Hamburg, the German Federal office for radiation protection, the Hamburg waterway police and, of course, also with the Hamburg harbor customs.
