New service at the Hamburg Information Counter of the Cruise Centre in HafenCity All good things come in threes. Three ships of AIDA Cruises are visiting the Port of Hamburg one after another. On Sunday, the 30th, the “AIDAluna” was welcomed to Hamburg, followed by the “AIDAaura”, which is in port today and tomorrow the “AIDAblu” will dock at the berth. At the suggestion of AIDA Cruises, Hamburg Cruise Centre e. V. is offering since June 2010 a special service for Hamburg’s cruise passengers. |

Hamburg welcomes new ship of the Ponant yachting cruise line Hamburg. For the first time a ship of the French luxury shipping company, Ponant Yacht Cruises, was welcomed in the Port of Hamburg. Following its maiden voyage in May 2010, Le Boréal is making 13 trips in all with a view to making itself known in European ports. Hamburg too was favoured with a visit – on the way from Honfleur to Copenhagen the superyacht arrived at the Elbe metropolis on 1 July, before continuing on the following day to Lübeck by way of Kiel. |

Atlantic Alliance concept succeeded Hamburg. Last Saturday AIDA Cruises’ newest cruise ship – the “AIDAblu” – said goodbye to her home port Hamburg and will return in August. During the first quarter of the year 2010 the “AIDAblu” set out on a total of nine cruises along the Atlantic west coast to visit the ports of the “Atlantic Alliance – Europe’s Prime Cruise Destinations”. |

Two celebrity ships in Hamburg Within one week, Celebrity Cruises shows up in Hamburg with two ships. The 2010 cruise season sees a grand total of six new ships making their maiden call to Hamburg. Among them is the “Celebrity Eclipse”, the largest luxury liner ever to be built in Germany. |

Official construction start for Cruise Terminal II in Altona Flanked by state finance minister Michael Freytag, economics minister Axel Gedaschko to-day laid the foundation stone for the new building of the Altona cruise terminal, marking the official start of the second building phase. The quay wall was already completed last year. Since then, services for cruise passengers at the Altona terminal have been of a very provi-sional nature, especially during the active building phase. |
